Methodology

The Design Sprint follows six phases: Understand, Define, Sketch, Decide, Prototype, and Validate.
While it is recommended to include all six phases of the methodology, there are certain situations where you might want to run a shorter workshop utilizing these methods and this was the case in this project. I had a deadline of 7 days to send the company the mockups. The client also requested some extra info, so in this particular case Persona, Navigation flow, Competitor analysis, and others were included

Research

In this process, I analyzed four competitors: Noknox, Severino App, Kiper, and even the classic Guest Book. Following this analysis, I created a table to prioritize which features should be available first.

In the same phase, information about concierges and syndics in Brazil was researched using the Brazilian government database, and the following data was collected:

Concierge:

The most common profile is an average age of 31 years old, completed high school, male, working 44 hours per week in a general service company, with an average income of R$1,374.77 per month.

Syndic:

The most common profile for a syndic is an average age of 37 years old, completed high school, male, working 44 hours per week in a general service company, with an average income of R$3,438.50 per month.

Requirements Table

After collecting the data in the research step i was able to create the following requirements table:

Persona

Personas are fictional characters created based on research to represent different user types who might engage with your service, product, site, or brand in a similar manner. Developing personas aids in understanding users' needs, experiences, behaviors, and goals. It enables designers to step outside their own perspective, recognizing diverse needs and expectations while fostering identification with the user being designed for.

With the data collected in the research, I created 2 personas:

User Journey

A user journey encompasses the experiences an individual undergoes when interacting with something, usually software. This concept is commonly employed by professionals in user experience design, web design, user-centered design, or anyone concerned with understanding how users interact with software experiences. It is frequently utilized as a shorthand for the comprehensive user experience and the range of actions one can undertake in software or other virtual experiences.

Navigation flowchart

Navigation flowcharts (also known as ”user flows”) are living documents that map out all the routes and possible pathways a user can take throughout their experience with your website or application.

Low fidelity Prototype

Low-fidelity (lo-fi) prototyping is a quick and easy way to translate high-level design concepts into tangible and testable artifacts. The first and most important role of lo-fi prototypes is to check and test functionality rather than the visual appearance of the product.

Wireframe

Wireframe, also known as a page schematic or screen blueprint, is a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework of a website or Application. They are created to arrange elements to best accomplish a particular purpose. The purpose is usually driven by a business objective and a creative idea. The wireframe depicts the page layout or arrangement of the website's content, including interface elements and navigational systems, and how they work together. The wireframe usually lacks typographic style, color, or graphics, since the main focus lies in functionality, behavior, and priority of content.

Conclusion

The prototype was sent to the client and got approved. It was an interesting task with a narrow deadline to create an app interface in only 7 days using UX methodologies.
